The Importance of Earth

My Dad and I went for frequent walks in the wetlands, sometimes with a tour guide who introduced us to the various flora and fauna, the channels, and the fragility of the ecosystem.
Someone once asked the tour guide if relying so heavily on volunteers often caused a lot of problems.
She answered so beautifully: "You can't believe the number of volunteers who tell me that they have never really touched soil, never planted anything or watched it grow. The bond they form with our earth is more valuable than the occasional indigeous plant they might trample. It's a bond that lasts a lifetime."
So next time you're feeling disconnected, go outside and plant something. That dying potted plant in your home could benefit from stretching its roots in the earth. Check out my instagram page to see my fresh strip of earth: https://www.instagram.com/p/DKRqhNGNx-0/
